Course Overview
Level B1 Arabic builds upon the foundation established in A2, focusing on developing intermediate proficiency. Students will expand their vocabulary, grammar, and communicative skills to engage in more complex conversations and understand a wider range of written and spoken Arabic.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters related to work, school, leisure, etc.
- Produce clear and detailed text on a wide range of subjects related to their interests.
- Interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.
- Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions in some detail.
- Give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
Course Curriculum
The course will cover the following thematic areas:
- Work and Education: Job applications, workplace interactions, academic life.
- Travel and Accommodation: Booking travel, describing places, making reservations.
- Health and Medicine: Describing medical conditions, making appointments, discussing treatments.
- Social Life and Relationships: Building friendships, expressing opinions, discussing current events.
- Culture and Society: Understanding Arab culture, traditions, and values.
Course Outputs
Students will demonstrate their learning through:
- Engaging in role-plays and simulated real-life situations.
- Writing summaries, essays, and reports.
